Sims Venture Capital (SVC) is a holding company that services multiple companies. The IT Manager will work with each of our companies to fulfill IT support, troubleshooting, and vendor management. IT experience is preferred, but we are looking for a go-getter who is willing to learn quickly on their feet.

SVC IT Manager Responsibilities:
  • Information Systems Project Management (Construction, hardware, and software implementation, workflow development)
  • Coordination/communication between employee users and product vendors
  • Translating ideas from management into actual technical solutions
  • Employee User Training on various technology products (hardware and software) as needed
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
  • Updating and upgrading hardware and software as needed (this includes research to find the best deals on hardware and software)
  • Providing technical support across the company and responding promptly to service issues and requests (this may be in person, over the phone, or via email)
  • Setting up and managing accounts for users across various systems (Email server, management systems, Active Directory, phone system, etc.)
  • Keeping track of service contract expirations to ensure no lapse in coverage
  • Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
  • Implement and maintain information security measures
  • Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating computer items (hardware and software)
  • Work closely with management to determine the maintenance and growth needs of the network
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place appropriate orders
  • Test, evaluate, and make decisions with management about new technology for the business
  • Maintaining security alarm system configuration and user management
  • Working closely with product/service vendors to produce the best technical solutions for the business
Requirements:
  • Direct IT experience
  • A technical, logical thought process with a keen eye for detail
  • An ability to stick to strict deadlines, while also prioritizing issues by their level of importance
  • Ability to travel to Kingsport office
  • Ability to pass a background check
$25-35/hr commensurate with experience
